Additionally, the course covers every topic in the Certified in Cybersecurity (ISC2) exam, helping you prepare thoroughly for the exam.
  • How long is the whole course?
    The entire course offered is 8 hours long. One of the key benefits of our online course is its flexibility; you can watch it at your own pace, allowing you to fit learning into your schedule seamlessly. Whether you prefer to complete it in one go or break it down into shorter sessions, the course is designed to accommodate your individual learning style and timing needs.
  • Do I need any technical support / IT experience to take this course?
    Nope, there is no requirement of prior knowledge, as the course is aimed at beginners who are looking to find out more about Cybersecurity and what it entails. It is also designed for those looking to start a career in cybersecurity or transition from another field into cybersecurity.
  • Which platform can I watch the course videos on?
    We suggest watching it on a Desktop PC, Laptop, or Tablet for the optimal viewing experience.
  • Which browser do you suggest?
    The website is best optimized for Google Chrome. It will work with other browsers, but Chrome offers the best performance.
  • The voice of the instructor is too fast or slow, what can I do to adjust?
    In the course video player, there is an option to slow down or speed up the instructor’s audio. You can adjust the speed according to your needs.
  • How do I access the course Study Guide?
    In the Introduction Module, there will be a file for the study guide, which you can download and view offline. The guide will cover every aspect of the course in greater detail.
  • How can I access my course materials?
    Once you log in to your account, you can click on "My Programs" to access all your course materials.
  • Can I download the course videos?
    The course videos are only available for streaming on our platform. Downloads are not available.
  • Can I take the courses at my own pace?
    Yes, all our courses are completely self-paced, which means you can access the content whenever it suits you and learn at your own speed. There are no deadlines for completing individual lessons or modules, allowing you to take breaks and revisit topics as often as you need. You can pause and resume the course at any time during the 6-week access period, so you have the flexibility to study on your schedule.
  • Can I take the course in any order?
    While we offer the flexibility to access any module at any time, we highly suggest completing the course in the order of the module format provided. Each module is designed to build on the knowledge from the previous ones, ensuring that the content flows smoothly and logically. Skipping a module may result in encountering terms or concepts that were explained in earlier sections, potentially hindering your understanding and progress. Therefore, for a comprehensive learning experience, it is best to follow the recommended sequence of modules.
  • How long is the course valid for once you sign up?
    You can access it for up to 6 weeks. After that, your account will expire.
  • Can I extend access to the course after my account expires?
    If you need more time, please contact us at techsupport@protechtrain.co.uk to discuss extension options.
  • Is there a way to interact with the instructor?
    Currently, the course is pre-recorded, so direct real-time interaction with the instructor is not available. However, we understand the importance of having your queries addressed. You can submit your questions to info@protechtrain.co.uk. Our instructor will review your enquiry and get back to you as soon as possible.   • What is Certified in Cybersecurity ISC2 certification?
    The Certified in Cybersecurity (ISC2) certification is an entry-level credential designed for individuals looking to start a career in cybersecurity. It covers fundamental cybersecurity principles, including security concepts, network security, and risk management. This certification is ideal for beginners or those transitioning into the cybersecurity field, providing a strong foundation of knowledge that is essential for professional growth.
  • How do I sign up for the certification?
    We will provide you with a link to where you can sign up for the certification free of charge. You have only 1 attempt to pass the exam. If you fail, you will need to pay for a re-attempt.
  • What format is the real exam?
    The exam is in a multiple-choice format.
  • How long is the length of the exam?
    The exam is 2 hours long.
  • What is the passing grade?
    The passing grade is 700 out of 1000 points.
  • Where can I take the exam?
    The exam must be taken at a Pearson VUE Testing Center. Once you register for the exam, the exam provider will share the details with you.
  • How can I reschedule or cancel my CC exam?
    You may reschedule your exam appointment up to 48 hours before your scheduled exam through Pearson VUE without the risk of forfeiting your free exam. Visit Pearson VUE to reschedule. If you are already an ISC2 Member or ISC2 Candidate, log in to your account. If not, create an account using the email address you entered when you scheduled your exam. Ensure your personal details match your ID, as discrepancies may prevent you from taking the test and result in a loss of any fees paid. At Pearson VUE, navigate to “View an upcoming test center appointment” to find your exam and reschedule or cancel.
  • Once I pass my exam, how long am I certified for?
    Once you are certified, you will hold the certification for 3 years.
  • What do I need to know about exam day?
    The Certified in Cybersecurity certification exam is only available in-person at ISC2-authorized Pearson VUE testing centers. It follows all standard ISC2 exam policies and practices, including rescheduling and special accommodations. Learn more here. IMPORTANT: When registering for your exam, you must enter your information exactly as it appears on the identification (ID) you will present at the test center. If it is not an exact match, you will not be able to take your test and you will not be reimbursed for any fees paid.
  • Can I skip a test item on the exam and answer it later?
    No. All items must be answered in the order they are presented. You cannot skip an exam item and return to it later.
  • How will I know if I pass the exam?
    You will receive a pass or fail result on-site at the test center upon completion of the exam. If you pass, you will receive a confirmation email with your next steps to complete the certification process. ISC2 does not release test scores. If you did not pass the exam, you will receive a printout at the test center with a breakdown of the proficiency level demonstrated per domain on the exam.
  • I have passed the CC exam, what do I do next?
    Congratulations on passing your CC exam! The next step is to agree to the ISC2 Code of Ethics and submit your certification application at ISC2 Certification.
  • I have passed the CC exam and submitted my application, but haven’t received my badge/certificate. What should I do?
    After passing the exam and submitting your application, the next step is to pay your first Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF) to become a CC holder. Once you’ve paid the AMF, your digital badge and certificate will be available shortly afterward. Please note that CC holders will not receive a welcome pack by mail.
  • What is the fee and when do I need to start paying for it?
    You’ll need to pay your first Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF) of U.S. $50 for the Certified in Cybersecurity certification after passing your exam and completing your certification application. The AMF is due annually on your certification anniversary.
  • What are the requirements to maintain the Certified in Cybersecurity certification after passing the exam?
    Certified in Cybersecurity credential holders will need to earn 45 CPE credits during their three-year certification cycle to maintain the certification. We recommend earning 15 credits per year.   • Is there an age restriction to take an ISC2 examination?
    You must be 16 years old to sit for an ISC2 examination.
  • Do I need to sit the exam?
    If you are looking to be certified, then yes, you will need to sit the exam. However, if you are not interested in becoming certified and just want to learn about Cybersecurity, then you do not need to sit the exam.
  • If I fail the exam, when is the next time I can re-sit it?
    The earliest is after 30 days from the day you last took the exam. If you fail again, the waiting period increases to 60 days, and for a third failure, it increases to 90 days.
  • Is there a restriction on how many attempts I can have for the exam?
    You can have a re-attempt up to a maximum of 4 times within a 12-month period.
